Jeff Grosso Pro model. 10.0″ x 29.5″. 15.0 Wheel Base. Metallic CANDY ORANGE Dipped/Paint Finish. Santa Cruz “Slimeball” Wheels. N ew Jeff Grosso pro model from Santa Cruz Skateboards. This is a reissue of the mid 1980s Toybox deck but finished in a metallic orange paint. It is a metallic gloss finish which has an almost pearl like sheen to it. I can’t remember Santa Cruz reissuing this one before in the original 80s shape and concave. The last two times they have done this graphic it has been an a more modern, long nosed shape. The concave is medium/mellow with a shallow nose kick & a big steep tail – just as the originals. The only differences are the truck holes are modern spaced and the paint dip is better than the finishes we had back in the 80s. This has been built up by ourselves at Conflict to be a really great 1980s board using parts that work & keep the 80s look – nothing that isn’t period correct looking or performing. It is set up with Sushi “California” trucks. These great looking, strong trucks are based on the Indy design so they turn well but are way cheaper! The width is between Indy 159s & 169s so perfect on the “Collage” deck. The wheels are Santa Cruz “Slimeball” wheels originally from the late 1980s. They are the original shape, original size and most importantly have the original graphics so are perfect on this deck. All in all a superb set-up just as you’d have rode in the mid/late 1980s.
