OG NOS Vintage 1987 SIMS Eric Nash Bandito Skateboard Deck Santa Cruz Powell
Original 1987 SIMS Eric Nash “Bandito” skateboard deck. This vintage deck is the original.. Definitely one of the Holy Grails of vintage SIMS skateboards! Eric Nash first pro model. This deck is one-of-a-kind as it was made for Eric and supposed to be one of his personal riders. It was saved and never ridden. As you can see it is marked NASH on the top side (see pic 8). Also what makes this super cool and super rare is that it is the first run “Fck You” model. The Sims Eric Nash was a big surprise. He told me what he wanted: A bandito with smoking guns, where the smoke spells his name. I did the art, it was approved, and it went through the production mill. A few months later I get a call from the marketing director telling me all the decks say “fck you” in the smoke – apparently some Amish kid in Pennsylvania bought the deck and his momma spotted it and called the company screaming, Lawyer, lawyer! I have to see this. I looked at my art and couldn’t see it. So I went to the office, where Greg and Marty pointed pointed it out to me. Honestly, I couldn’t see it until they pointed it out. Then it wouldn’t go away. That’s all I could see. So of course I had to redo the art, and all was well in Skateville again. I think about 500 boards made it to market before the fix. Legendary artist – Andy Takakjian. Beautiful PURPLE stain deck. Awesome wood grains and crazy cool screenprinting. Brand new old stock (NOS). Never setup or skated absolutely no twist. Couple minor surface only storage marks here and there but almost perfectly mint condition. It is truly unbelievably clean and over 30 years old. Stored in poly deck bag in a smoke free home. Deck will be packaged with extreme caution. (Deck bag, bubble wrap, sturdy box, etc). Original 1989 Jason Jessee Neptune. This vintage deck is the original.. Definitely one of the Holy Grails of Santa Cruz skateboards. The Jessee Neptune graphic is hands down one of the most iconic and recognizable skate graphics of all time. With the infamous Neptune art originally done for Jessee’s debut model by legendary graphic artist Jim Phillips… Johnny Mojo was given the opportunity to redraw the Phillips Neptune art for Jessee’s 2nd pro model. Adding tattoos and more skulls and the mermaid tail… Jason loved it, tattooed the mermaid on his leg and the rest is skate history! Any collector would agree.. The Neptune deck is SUPER RARE and HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER. It has a beautiful natural stain with a crazy cool screenprinted graphic. The last 6 pics highlight the condition imperfections. This deck was setup at some point initially or quite possibly was a factory complete. Pic 5 – Grip tape discoloration – No residue whatsoever. Pic 7 – Starting from the nose there is an old surface crack which appears to be not even fully through the first ply and there are seven ply’s Pic 8 – Some slight indentations and truck indentations Pic 9 – Surface scuffs on the graphic Pic 10 – Surface scratches on the graphic Pic 11 – Bit of paint smudge possibly from factory Pic 12 – Tail wear – Its very slight. Once the deck is hanging on the wall you can barely see any of these imperfections and it almost appears to be NOS. Stored in poly deck bag in a smoke free home.
