T his has to be one of the best 70s style complete boards we’ve ever seen here. It’s like the best Penny board ever made plus has the iconic Screaming Hand graphics, by Jim Phillips, but altered to show Eric Dressen’s love of “ink”. The deck has medium depth concave and is a “double kick” so not a tru 70s style board but a 70s board for the 21st century. The longer the wheelbase the mose stable you’ll feel when moving. Plus the kicks on this deck are not going to flatten when you apply some presure to them unlike the tails of those plastic boards. If you’ve ever ridden one you’ll know what we are talking about – this is how a 70s style deck should be. The top of this one has black griptape applied with a cutout around the Santa Cruz top logo, subte and classy looking. This is a really nippy quick turning set up designed to get around town (weaving through the crowds) or carve on a dime round the local banks/park. It is kitted out with Bullet 107 trucks and 60mm 78a OJ III “Hot Juice”wheels. The trucks are mounted on 1/2 risers to give a little more wheel clearance so you can really lean into the turns without wheelbite fears. Bullet trucks are one of the best turning trucks made so are perfect on transport boards plus these are extra narrow so really do turn sharply. Even youngsters should have no problem cranking a tight turn on this as the bright orange bushings are very soft and responsive. The wheels are very grippy and soft enough to ride over most surfaces the streets an throw at you. They are very fast, silent and smooth rolling – just how the best cruiser wheels should be.
