“Screaming Hand – Metal Stripe Cruzer”. 31.7″ x 9.35″. 15.25 Wheel Base. Slimeball “OG 78a” Wheels in BLACK Krux 850 trucks Complete Cruiser/Transport/80s style Board. T his is just superb. It’s not a reissue as you could never get a Screaming Hand board back in the 80s but at last SC have produced one! It’s been set up as a cruiser/transport board using top quality components. The graphics are one of the most iconic of all time and like most SC graphics by the legendary Jim Phillips. The deck has medium/deep concave and is a “double kick” but the nose is a touch shorter than the tail kick. It’s kitted out with one of the best transport wheels going – Slimeball “OG” which are super soft 78a hardness and 60mm diameter. These enable it to eat up rough roads and smooth out the worst skate spots you can find… But swap them for some Slimeball “Vomits” in 97a and you then have a really great pool board too. The trucks are Krux 8.5. Great trucks that are strong and good turning – I rode the exact same trucks on my board for years. They are mounted on 1/4 risers to give a little more wheel clearance so you can really lean into the turns without wheelbite fears. Re-issue of the Jason Jessee “Guadalupe” deck originally released in the very early 1990s – just before decks went all “popsicle” shaped. The finish on this one is something else as it is fully “dipped” in pink matallic paint! It has a medium/deep concave, a longkicked nose and a steep tail. All pretty much as the original; same shape, concave, size, tail, etc. But now drilled for modern trucks so if you want to fit original 80s ones you’ll have to drill a couple of extra holes. Any extra holes would be hidden under griptape and under the baseplates… Until you take a board appart you’d never know. Set-Up advice:(call 0116 2867878). For trucks look at Indy 149s, Tracker 149s or Bullet 150s for a cheaper option. (169s if using narrow wheels). Wheels: Powell do lots of re-issues; Rat Bones, G-Bones, etc. And now Santa Cruz have re-issued some of their iconic urethane too; Slime Balls, Big Balls, OJ Teamriders, etc. So there is a load of choice. It’s pretty massive feeling at just a 1/100th of an inch under ten inches – if you believe the SC measurements! We just call it 10 inches wide here.
