John Hutson Pro Slalom Model. 28.2″ x 8.18″. 1976 Reissue – Released 2013. My favourite 1970s reissues ever made – the 40th anniversary Santa Cruz boards. I saved this one for myself but have decided to let it go. They came out over 6 years and are now impossible to find in unused condition so snap this one up whilst you can. It’s from Santa Cruz Skateboards and was part of their 40th Anniversary reissue series. They were all made as close to the originals in looks and performance but improved where they could be too. They even reissued the iconic Road Rider “Four” wheels to compliment this range of boards. The trucks are the Indy 109s with the very 70s looking “T” hangers. This reissued deck is constructed of maple ply sandwiched between fibreglass layers – I think the OG version may have had carbon in it too. A Hutson carbon model back then. I really don’t know if the reissue has any carbon in the lay-up? The new ones have a slight amount of concave which the original ones didn’t have. Size, graphics and camber are all spot on – this is a beauty. This could be your last chance to grab one of these.
